Sylvia’s Journey, my brother and I
Welp, I’ve finished book two in our Seeds of Faith series! Man, oh man, what a journey it’s been. I decided to work with an editor for the first time, and I do not regret it, even though it added time to my planned publishing date!
My only regret is that I didn’t hire an editor for book one! But the past is the past, so I must move forward.
You’ll notice that I’ve added a subtitle starting with Sylvia’s Journey. This one is called Betrayals & Beginnings. Once you read it, you’ll see why! I hope this will help readers understand the characters’ Journey.
I’ve truly enjoyed writing this Journey. I’ve spent much time reflecting on my brother Alvin’s life. He and I had almost twelve years between us. We lost him when I was twelve, and I’ve never forgotten him. He was one of a kind!
Alvin was a military man. He had two beautiful daughters, and he was a kind person who tried his best to take care of his little sister on top of everything else! See, our mama worked many hours to make ends meet, so Alvin tried to give me a bit of stability when he could. He’s part of the childhood I was blessed to have, and I’m so thankful for his influence on me, even for the short time I had him.
As a kid, I was a booger bear, and Alvin put up with a lot from me yet showed patience and love. I have no doubt that I am the person I am today because of his influence. I pray I served his memory well as I penned Sylvia’s Journey.
I hope you join Sylvia as she faces betrayal, danger, and many other trials throughout her journey.
XOXO,
Leah
